Suffice it to say, it's been a busy couple of eons for us in Raptor-land. With Hammond out, we're peddling our wares all over the town, and they've been flying like hotcakes (along with all the other new merch: T-Shirts, Bracelets, Posters, Stickers, etc.). It makes us so happy and proud to see our little boy all growed up...
We have a not-so-little mini tour planned with none other than the veritable Ms. Amanda Lepre ( www.amandalepre.com ) and Co., and will also be sharing a stage with Bangladeafy at the Lit Lounge in NYC, The Beerded and tempsoundsolutions in Baltimore, and none other than Bon Motherfucking Jovi in Philly. If you're in these cities in mid-April, do yourself and all of us a favor and make a point of attending one of these shows.
Some other secret shows in NY are looming, we'll be sure to update you as they materialize... Over+Out

Big Business
Hi-there ho-there Raptorians,
Another update in the works here from the handsomest little minstrelling boys you know. Tracking, Mixing&Mastering 'Hammond' was an absolute dream, no BS. Colin Marston is truly a NINJA of an audio engineer, and the Thousand Caves provided the perfect vibe for us to get down and funky with our bad selves. All basic tracks were done completely LIVE (that includes looping) and most songs were done in a matter of a few takes. Recording to 2" tape is something we're all super excited about, and the sound is simply undeniable. We were essentially trying to emulate a live show, and think the results are very successful. You can stream the entire album for FREE or buy high quality digital files here:
http://youbredraptors.bandcamp.com/album/hammond
Don't forget to download the free single, Hem&Haw! iTunes and Amazon availability will come shortly, we will have physical copies in a matter of weeks.
Speaking of physical copies... Our big CD Release show at Tammany Hall is looming ever closer, March 10th people! Mark your calendars! We're happy to share the stage with The Rouge Royale, it's sure to be a fantastic/delicious time. We'll also be peddling some new YBR? schwag alongside the new album...
In the spirit of keeping things socially awkward, we're playing on Valentine's Day for the MTA's 'Missed Connections' show at the Transit Museum in Brooklyn Heights. That's right, you can find the 7 fingered, MRSA infected homeless guy who you just couldn't connect with on your morning commute, AND listen to YBR? at the same time! Easily accessible from the 2, 3, 4, 5, A, C, F, R, M and G trains, more info follows here:
http://www.mta.info/mta/museum/pdf/missed_flyer.pdf
Other news includes the continued residency at fancy-pants wine and craft beer bar Crescent&Vine in Astoria, we'll be there the last Friday of every month shaking our feathery tails around. We're also looking at some film and TV scoring opportunities, and just might jump at a few of them... Maybe youll hear some YBR? tunage in the next Pfizer commercial, yeah! Hopefully not! Check out the main website, http://www.youbredraptors.com for a new design and a peek at some new merch we've acquired from the lab.
Until next time, ladies and gents...

New Album? Wha-wha-whaaaaat?
Me and the rest of the boys here in YBR? are all sorts of excited and stimulated for this coming weekend. Unless you've been living under a rock and ignoring the hell out of us (we're so needy...), we start tracking for our new album tomorrow!
Colin Marston will be recording and producing this aural offering at his most infamous studio, The Thousand Caves at Menegroth: www.thethousandcaves.com Peat will almost definitely experience string envy after seeing Colin's Warr Guitar.
All of you audiophiles will be happy to hear that we're using Analog equipment (2" Tape whaaaaat?), so yes, you'll be able to hear me fart on a snare drum. We're looking at 11 tracks for this release, and the song-writing is decidedly more confident and focused on the "long term."
Friday the 27th begins our monthly residence at Crescent & Vine, a craft beer and wine bar in our neighborhood, Astoria. We'll be the house band for their parties that happen the last Friday of each month, so be sure to come out and get classy-drunk at this fancy pants watering hole.
Other big stuff is in the works for YBR?, but it's super confidential and we were told we can't reveal any pertinent info on it... Let's just say it involves a duck, a parrot, and a mystery ingredient. That's all for now ladies and gents, we'll see you on the other side of The Caves.
Over and out.

Webster Hall show approaches with vigor!
Hey friends,
This is a reminder that we're suuuuper excited (and totally at half-mast) to be part of The Anachronism IV. It's THIS coming Sunday at Webster Hall, our set starts at 4pm and admission is 15 smackers. For all of you Raptor lovers who do the facebooks, here's a link to the event: http://www.facebook.com/events/210951828964553/
In other news! We've been working our little butts off writing new tunes, woodshedding on our other project This Place Is Haunted, AND are slated to record a new album in January with Colin-Motherfucking-Marston at The Thousand Caves. Analog meets YBR? Me likey.
New merch coming your way shortly, including t-shirts, beer koozies, new stickers/buttons and since so many of you have asked, signature YBR? Buttplugs. That way you don't have to just think about us when you masturbate.
The pleasure was all mine. Zach, over and out.

Edgar Allen Poe AND Dino-Steampunk? Seriously?
Hot DAMN! Some serious stuff has been happening for us in YBR? lately. Unfortunately, the Edgar Allen Poe production and the Dino-Steampunk event are not one in the same. Maybe someday my dreams of such an intertwinement will come true. Let's get to some pertinent shit.
The EAP production is to take place at Altered Stage 2 - 150 West 28th Street NY 10001 for 3 consecutive weekends (Oct 28 29+30, Nov 4 5+6, Nov 11, 12+13).
Here's a link with all necessary info: http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/bedlamensemble/the-delirium-of-edgar-allan-poe
The Anachronism Dino-Steampunk event will be in MTHRFCKNG WEBSTER HALL on December 4th. We'll be sharing a stage with a myriad of awesome stage acts, featuring some new costumes/masks and generally soaking in the fucking awesome culture that is steampunk. Click YES on attending if you enjoy beautiful weirdness http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=210951828964553
We've been writing our little butts off as well, and have 6 new tracks DONEZO, FINI, KOMPLETT for the new album. If all goes well with more writing, recording, assembling, etc. we're looking at a Spring release. Of course, we've been busking away and spreading the word of how awesome we are on a more than regular basis. Stay gold... Pony Boy, Stay gold.

Something Has Survived....
Okay, we apologize for using such a crappy title from such a crappy movie. The Lost World sucked... i think we can all agree on that. Except for the gymnastics scene and the addition of the Pachycephlasaurus. And maybe that dreeeeeaaaammmy Ian Malcolm coming back. But THAT'S IT! Anyway young scientists, a lot is going on with You Bred Raptors?. For realz... no foolin. We are adding a new scientist to our litter. It will now be a trio. She will be unveiled shortly. The new instrument is cello and it is a dream long realized for Zach and myself. The addition of strings will make this band more approachable and more confident so you can finally bring us home to your parents to get their blessing before we make sweet love in their car later on that night. Until we do the 'big reveal', this will be the new member of the band...
We have a small east coast tour coming up in a few weeks. It will be 5 days. So come show your love in that tiny window of time. Our hearts WON'T wait forever. Shows are listed above for venues as well as our weekly subway shows. New merch is being delivered as we speak and we are uber excited about that. We have new patches that you can wear and pretend you are in a cult with us. But it will be one of those cool cults that serves soda instead of boring flavored punch. Well, Tang is pretty badass so we might have a Tangy Tuesday or something in our cults but that is as mainstream as we are getting.
We are shooting more and more film for an upcoming music video as well as boring press package stuff that shouldn't interest most of you but we would just like the record to show that we are being diligent and all businessy. Does that make you all wet in the pantaloons? Well, it should. Speaking of attracting the female species, YBR?'s 8 string bass player, Epileptic Peat is now the proud owner of 2 dinosaur tattoos (and counting). It's time to ante up kiddies...
Yeah... they are badass. The land one is a Parasauralophus and the water one is a Plesiosaur. We know you love it. And we love you. Check back for an updated merch section. The entire 'Muldoon' CD is available for listen here. Try before you buy. Also, our entire first EP 'Lex & Tim' is available for free download. Don't say we never did anything for you.
See ya soon, straphangers.

MULDOON Finished!
YBR? is both happy and proud to announce that MULDOON is officially pressed and ready for sale. Pete and I are both experiencing some Postpartum Depression now that our little baby is all growed up and out in the world. Here's a link to a few streaming teaser tracks: http://www.reverbnation.com/play_now/7816401
The CD weighs in at a hefty 13 tracks, running time 58 minutes. Not bad for being together for 6 months, right? Don't worry, we're already in the drafting stage of the next album and are throwing melodies and harmonic movements at one another left and right. Duty-free, ever-lasting friendship to anyone who can guess the album name!!
The official CD release show is Friday, the 25th at The Charleston in Brooklyn, steps from the Bedford Ave stop on the L train. Apparently cheap drinks that come with free pizza and a non-pretentious vibe, I dig it. Please, try to peel yourself away from re-runs of shitty sitcoms and enjoy the veritable tons of good music happening that night. Hope to see you all there.
Love and Pancakes,
Zach
