What in Sam Hill is going on over here?

The machine of perpetual motion and Raptorian ridiculousness continues. I'm sitting at my computer in my Dad-robe chugging coffee like it's my job (and it certainly is today), so expect a complete lack of control and a total disregard for most anything. We're about 3 shots of espresso in, so the lunacy is starting to kick in, YEAH LET'S DO THIS IT'S AWESOME I'M SO READY.

We've been getting all sorts of media attention as of late, and it couldn't have come at a better time. Outlets such as The Deli, Pinpoint Music, Shakefist Magazine, PostRockStar have been making good mention of us... and that's the short list! If you haven't been keeping up on all of these laudatory tidbits about your favorite masked instrumental trio, then maybe we need to start brewing up meth with new people.

Our hugely anticipated and sure-to-be ridonkulous show at Galapaogos is TOMORROW with the ever lovely and talented Rebecca Brandt! We're very excited to perform at this venue with all of these other truly fantastic musicians, and if you have anything resembling a pulse, you'll be there! Friday the 21st of September, doors at 7pm, advance tickets are 10$ here: http://www.ticketweb.com/t3/sale/SaleEventDetail?dispatch=loadSelectionData&eventId=4839215  There will be a video crew there and we juuuust might be filming footage for an über-secret DVD release... Shhhh...

We're also looking at a quick recording of a new tune to accompany the re-release of Hammond on a totally different medium... 47 friendship points to the first 5 fans who guess what the medium is! I'll give you one hint, it isn't a piano roll.

Yeah yeah yeah, you get it, we're awesome and you don't appreciate us enough. Sounds about right. Over and out my pretties, until next time.

Jumpin' Jehosaphat! Humpin' Hornytoads!

Us dudes here in YBR? have been all sorts of busy since the last update, many things need to get done talked about!

For starters, we're gearing up for SEVERAL short films that will be featuring our oh-so-lovely musical prowess. These short films are spearheaded by our buddies in PVAF Films ( www.pvaffilms.com ) who have frequently lent their visual/videography skills to our cause in the past. These shorts are already proving to be all sorts of exciting and challenging.

On that scoring track (see what I did there?), we're also in talks with a certain B-Horror company for scoring a feature-length film... If you're lucky, you just might catch a glimpse of our ugly mugs for an extra-sexual cameo. Official announcement to follow after official papers are officiated by the official officiators.

Hammond has quite literally been flying off of the shelves/subway stations/horse-drawn carts/etc. Not to mention the buzz and such for all our other BANGIN' merch (seriously dudes and ladies, wearing it makes everyone else think about your private parts). A re-up from the Raptor warehouse is in order for most merch items, our deepest apologies if there are any delays in shipping. Feel free to keep the carrier pigeon as a token of our appreciation.

Also of note, Epileptic Peat is now officially endorsed by CONKLIN guitars and KURT MANGAN strings. Conklin will be making a custom bass partially designed by him and Kaptain Carbon. Kurt Mangan will be threading strings together from spider webs and baby tears. We're still working on our ChexMix endorsement, we just can't quit you...

To top it all off, we've been writing like absolute madmen. These scoring projects have ignited such a creative streak in all of us that we've neglected many other things in the process (rent, social lives, general hygiene). Solo instrument pieces and orchestral soundscapes are flying out of our butt like monkeys in dumb outfits and we can't wait to share it all with you in the 7 different mediums they'll be appearing in. I'm not making any promises here, but it's kind of like a gang bang for your ears, and you don't have to cry or take a shower afterwards.

What else can I possibly say that would satiate you if the previous sentence didn't do the trick? Listen to the friggin' album here: www.youbredraptors.bandcamp.com Get your free download on, share it with your friends and cute cousins, tip your bartender, just the tip. Over+Out

Greetings Friends!

Suffice it to say, it's been a busy couple of eons for us in Raptor-land. With Hammond out, we're peddling our wares all over the town, and they've been flying like hotcakes (along with all the other new merch: T-Shirts, Bracelets, Posters, Stickers, etc.). It makes us so happy and proud to see our little boy all growed up...

We have a not-so-little mini tour planned with none other than the veritable Ms. Amanda Lepre ( www.amandalepre.com ) and Co., and will also be sharing a stage with Bangladeafy at the Lit Lounge in NYC, The Beerded and tempsoundsolutions in Baltimore, and none other than Bon Motherfucking Jovi in Philly. If you're in these cities in mid-April, do yourself and all of us a favor and make a point of attending one of these shows.

Some other secret shows in NY are looming, we'll be sure to update you as they materialize... Over+Out

Big Business

Hi-there ho-there Raptorians,

Another update in the works here from the handsomest little minstrelling boys you know. Tracking, Mixing&Mastering 'Hammond' was an absolute dream, no BS. Colin Marston is truly a NINJA of an audio engineer, and the Thousand Caves provided the perfect vibe for us to get down and funky with our bad selves. All basic tracks were done completely LIVE (that includes looping) and most songs were done in a matter of a few takes. Recording to 2" tape is something we're all super excited about, and the sound is simply undeniable. We were essentially trying to emulate a live show, and think the results are very successful. You can stream the entire album for FREE or buy high quality digital files here:

http://youbredraptors.bandcamp.com/album/hammond

Don't forget to download the free single, Hem&Haw! iTunes and Amazon availability will come shortly, we will have physical copies in a matter of weeks.

Speaking of physical copies... Our big CD Release show at Tammany Hall is looming ever closer, March 10th people! Mark your calendars! We're happy to share the stage with The Rouge Royale, it's sure to be a fantastic/delicious time. We'll also be peddling some new YBR? schwag alongside the new album...

In the spirit of keeping things socially awkward, we're playing on Valentine's Day for the MTA's 'Missed Connections' show at the Transit Museum in Brooklyn Heights. That's right, you can find the 7 fingered, MRSA infected homeless guy who you just couldn't connect with on your morning commute, AND listen to YBR? at the same time! Easily accessible from the 2, 3, 4, 5, A, C, F, R, M and G trains, more info follows here:

Other news includes the continued residency at fancy-pants wine and craft beer bar Crescent&Vine in Astoria, we'll be there the last Friday of every month shaking our feathery tails around. We're also looking at some film and TV scoring opportunities, and just might jump at a few of them... Maybe youll hear some YBR? tunage in the next Pfizer commercial, yeah! Hopefully not! Check out the main website, http://www.youbredraptors.com for a new design and a peek at some new merch we've acquired from the lab.

Until next time, ladies and gents...

New Album? Wha-wha-whaaaaat?

Me and the rest of the boys here in YBR? are all sorts of excited and stimulated for this coming weekend. Unless you've been living under a rock and ignoring the hell out of us (we're so needy...), we start tracking for our new album tomorrow!

Colin Marston will be recording and producing this aural offering at his most infamous studio, The Thousand Caves at Menegroth: www.thethousandcaves.com Peat will almost definitely experience string envy after seeing Colin's Warr Guitar.

All of you audiophiles will be happy to hear that we're using Analog equipment (2" Tape whaaaaat?), so yes, you'll be able to hear me fart on a snare drum. We're looking at 11 tracks for this release, and the song-writing is decidedly more confident and focused on the "long term."

Friday the 27th begins our monthly residence at Crescent & Vine, a craft beer and wine bar in our neighborhood, Astoria. We'll be the house band for their parties that happen the last Friday of each month, so be sure to come out and get classy-drunk at this fancy pants watering hole.

Other big stuff is in the works for YBR?, but it's super confidential and we were told we can't reveal any pertinent info on it... Let's just say it involves a duck, a parrot, and a mystery ingredient. That's all for now ladies and gents, we'll see you on the other side of The Caves.

Over and out.
